World migration : "The good, the bad and the ugly" [Part 3]

"He, who benefits from a crime is the one most likely to have committed it." Have you ever heard that statement...? Well, more often than not, basing your analysis on it can lead you to interesting conclusions.

World migrations as an opportunity to grow

Strength in numbers

For any homecountry, a number of things can come up as an advantage through the migration of its people :

• Establishing the right mindset for economic growth
• Use of the right working methods
• Investment of the expatriates to their original country in order to encourage entrepreneurship
• Increase of the knowledge of other cultures making foreign trade easier 

This kind of outcome is only possible when the migrant is still involved one way or another with his homecountry.

When it comes to the country of adoption, the interesting contributions could be :

• A new dynamism brought by workers eager to improve their quality of life
• For countries such as Germany with an aging population, the newcomers can come and contribute to maintain the retirement program
• For business owners this is an opportunity to keep wages at a low level and therefore increase their profit
• Migrants and their offsprings can be an advantage for foreign trade

Here, again, to make it possible, you should have a well thought immigration policy. The goals of that policy would be to :

1. Check the ability of the newcomes to adjust to the country so that they do not end up being a burden for the society
2. Make sure the country has the ability to train the newcomers properly

But a poison among the most dangerous ones for world stability 

It might be better to build up more ways to commute..?

The drawbacks of the current immigration system can be summed up as follows :

Regarding the country of adoption :

• Half of the world population is living below the poverty line accounting for 3.4 billion people. So, would it be sustainable to welcome such an influx of migrants within 374 km² or in a country such as France or even England with no social and economic unrest?
• A number of migrants do not have the basic abilities to adjust, evolve and live in a dignified way in the new country. Down the line, you end up having an additional criminality stemming from the newcomers feeding rejection (or xenophobia, in this type of environment they are synonyms) in the minds of the locals.

When it comes to the homecountry :

• The more qualified people such as doctors stay abroad and do not enable the country to make progress
• The lack of willingness to invest in the country of origin leaves room to the tyrants to rule the country with an iron fist

• When the migrants do not send money destined to business creation but rather almost only for  daily consumption, it can lead the locals to sit and expect everything to come to them. You end up having no individual initiatives and no significant progress in the economy. As the saying goes "Give a person a fish and you feed him for a day, teach them to fish and you feed them for a life time." 

The current immigration system as a tool to destabilize and increase privileges for a minority

Yes indeed, we can talk about a system since a system is a set of practices organized in order to reach a specific goal. As to world migrations, we often notice the repetition of the same old scheme :

1. Identify wealth (quite often a certain raw material)
2. If they are difficult to get, support the opposition to the ruler
3. Destabilize the targeted country with an unrest heading potentially to an all out war
4. Get the access wanted to the identified wealth
5. Huge migration of the struggling people suffering from war, desperation and then use of those same people for economic and global governance purposes.

Here, one can definitely refer to that as an "Order within the disorder". The huge waves of migrants seem to benefit first and foremost to the elites in the homecountry as long as in the country of adoption. One one hand, in the homecountry, they enable the leaders to keep their hold on the power since the most interested ones in rebellion leave the country. On the other hand, in the country of adoption, the newcomers can be used to keep wages at a low level and in doing increase the profit for the dominant class. The modern immigration system is efficient for luring a population ready to be exploited.

Considering that, we can legitimately ask ourselves the following questions :

• Are we simply facing a new kind of human trafficking (some would even say slavery)...?
• World migrations are a fact historically but shouldn't we rather try to organize them for the greater good...?
• Wouldn't it be better to try and satisfy socio-economic needs wherever they are instead of encouraging risky journeys...?
